Zappeion

The Zappeion building was built in the heart of Athens in 1888 for the purpose of being used for the Olympics. In 1896 it was the fencing hall. In 1906 it was the Olympic village. In 2004 it served as the press center for the Olympics. The building is currently used as a conference and exhibition center. Today I noticed some military people marching next to it. There is also a little market with different tastes of Greece being held outside of it this week.
The Zappeion building.

The building captured from further away and up high.

A fountain directly across from it.

The little market.

I think this man was renting little, plastic vehicles.

Remember this pond from a blog months ago?  Look how many turtles there are now!
