Italy leftovers

I arrived back in Athens today and Bob went on to Sicily. There are some photos I hadn't yet posted of Italy due to them being turned the wrong way or being on my camera vs computer, so here are some leftovers from the trip.
Bob at Paestum

Paestum Temple to Neptune

Pompeii second story house.

Inside a Pompeii house

The famous house, The House of the Faun from Pompeii.

The actual faun statue that was recovered inside the house.

Some sort of oven? from a house at Herculaneum

Tools? in the same house as above.

From the crypts at Herculaneum
We stayed at an AirBnb in Salerno, which was an apartment first bought and occupied by the grandmother of the current owners in the 1960's. The place was neat, so I took some pictures.

The fridge is over 50 years old and still works. I guess they don't build them like they used to.
The following are pictures of Salerno Old Town.

Before you continue on, the following are a few more photos from the eroticism room at the museum in Naples. I get the question a lot about why are they so many phallic artifacts. The male organ was regarded as a talisman of fecundity and prosperity which could also ward off evil influences. Now you may be wondering why show erotic scenes in art or on ceramic dishes? This was very common in homes especially in the banquet room as they were to "excite the most voluptuous fantasies of the guests" (they say more so than the wine). "Their grotesque poses were obviously intended to catch the eye and titillate the householder's guests." *Quotes were taken from a description in the room at the museum.

These are casts. When a part of your body was healed, you bought a cast and dedicated it to the god that healed you.

These are lamps.

This is a door bell/knocker.
