Crete: Minoan Harbor and Knossos

In February, we did the Crete trip with the school, and I haven't yet posted the site pictures yet, so I'm going to work through those over the next couple days.

As soon as we got off the ferry in Crete we walked to an old Minoan harbor. There wasn't much to see there.

Our next stop was Knossos where we spent a few hours as there is a Palace, Unexplored Mansion, Little Palace, Villa Dionysos, Excavations, and Villa Ariadne all to see there. It is the largest Bronze Age archaeological site on Crete and was the center of Minoan civilization and culture in its time. The first settlement in this area dates around 7000 BCE and the first palace around 2000 BCE.
We were greeted by some dogs as we entered the site.

The Magazines. The rectangular cists stored equipment, vases, and some were lined to store liquids.

More dogs inside.
