Archaeological Museum and Byzantine Museum in Thessaloniki

We visited two different museums in Thessaloniki. The Archaeological Museum seemed to have a lot of gold finds. It was also a very large museum.

every museum has got that token turtle

The Derveni Crater

This piece is well known for its Dionysian scene and the skill required for the details.

The Byzantine museum had some interesting things of its own. I thought the tombs were neat. While we were there, two tour buses of students from culinary school were there, so it was pretty crowed. Also, I'm not sure of their museum experience because anytime you get too close to a piece of art, sirens/alarms would go off, and they were going off like crazy in the rooms with these students.

The Pope Coat

The weather has been warmer in Athens the last two days. I've only needed a sweatshirt. Also, I signed up for the Crete trip, which will take place in February, so stay tuned for that.
